The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 is the primary legislation covering general fire safety in England and Wales, supported by the Fire Safety Act 2021 and the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
As an employer, building owner, landlord or occupier — you are the Responsible Person. You are legally required to ensure a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment is carried out and kept up to date. Failure to comply can result in enforcement action, improvement notices, or prosecution.
Assessments are conducted in accordance with PAS 79-1:2020 (non-domestic premises) and BS 9792:2025 (housing), published by the British Standards Institution (BSI).
A range of professional fire safety services for building owners, landlords, facilities managers and responsible persons across South Wales.
Suitable and sufficient assessments for all premises types — identifying hazards, people at risk, and prioritised actions. Fully documented and aligned with current legislation and British Standards.
Expert advice on fire safety strategy, compliance, means of escape, compartmentation, and fire safety management systems for complex or specialist buildings.
Independent audits of your existing fire safety arrangements, management procedures, documentation and compliance — providing clear, actionable findings.
Specialist knowledge of high-risk residential buildings — including blocks of flats, HMOs, care homes and sheltered housing — with reference to BS 9991 and BS 9792.
Support with statutory fire safety consultations for planning applications, building regulation approvals and change of use, providing professional fire safety input at design stage.
Review and update of existing fire risk assessments where changes to the building, use, or legislation mean the current assessment may no longer be suitable and sufficient.
I am a qualified fire safety professional with extensive experience across a broad range of building types — from residential and commercial premises through to complex specialist and defence estate buildings.
Having worked as a Fire Safety Regulator for the Ministry of Defence, I bring a rigorous, evidence-based approach to every assessment. I understand what regulators and enforcement authorities expect — and I help clients produce fire risk assessments that are genuinely suitable and sufficient, not just box-ticking exercises.
My assessments are carried out in line with current UK fire safety legislation, relevant British Standards and recognised good practice guidance. Every report is clear, defensible and focused on the real risks that matter.
